In Galatians 1:8, the Apostle Paul says, "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed."

Which of these beliefs or practices are found or authorized in the Bible? Lent? Infant baptism? Use of holy water? Penance? Burning of candles and incense? Icons and images? Sprinkling for baptism? Bead counting? Purgatory? Celibacy of priests? Universal Bishop? Infallibility? Bingo? Instrumental music?

None of these things can be found, authorized, nor practiced by the church that Jesus established in the Bible. They are all beliefs and practices added by men, some over 1300 years after the Bible was written. The sad part is that those who teach and practice such things will readily admit they are additions to the Bible. Is Jesus okay with that? Jesus said of similar actions, "In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men… All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition." (Mark 7:1-9)

Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." (Matthew 7:21)
