Does your salvation fit the pattern that Jesus established?

Matthew 28:19-20: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…"

Mark 16:16: "He who believes and is baptized shall be saved, he who does not believe shall be condemned."

Bible examples of this pattern:

  • Jews at Pentecost Acts 2:37-38: "What must we do?" Repent and be baptized for the remission of sins.
  • Simon and other Christians at Samaria Acts 8:12-13: Taught, believed and were baptized.
  • Ethiopian Eunuch Acts 8:26-39: Taught (vs. 35), believed and confessed Christ (vs. 37) and was baptized (vs. 38).
  • Paul Acts 22:16: "Arise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord."
  • Cornelius Acts 10: Told what he must do (vs.6), baptized (vs. 48).
  • Christians in Rome Romans 6:3-4: Buried in baptism, walked in newness of life.
  • Christians in Galatia Galatians 3:26-27: Faith in Christ Jesus, baptized into Christ, put on Christ.

Does your salvation fit this Bible pattern? If not, why? If you have been taught by someone a different pattern other than the Biblical pattern listed above and you would like to sit down and study these things in person, please call Lee at 221-8553 or Cary at 867-8224. Our salvation is too important to be left to a man’s opinion. We must study the Word of God to see what His plan of salvation is for us. Remember the Bereans in Acts 17:11 who searched the scriptures daily to make sure the things being taught were from God.
